The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA), a national association located in Pittsburgh, serving nurses and other healthcare professionals working in palliative and hospice care, is seeking an experienced Nurse Educator to provide program development and support for education courses and publications. The Nurse Educator is responsible for developing course content and materials. As a Nurse Educator for HPNA you will:

  • Develop new and revised publications by communicating with coordinators, editors, and faculty; drafting calls for topics/abstracts, and reviewing and revising project-related documents.
  • Develop and conduct education courses by reviewing/editing/preparing course materials, generating reports, and summarizing and analyzing data.
  • Participate in the revision and development of organizational position statements by preparing timelines and coordinating with content contributors and reviewers.
  • Provide customer service to volunteer and authors, editors, reviewers, speakers, and session coordinators.

Requirements
  • Two years of teaching or staff education/curriculum development experience
  • Nursing clinical and management experience, with current knowledge of hospice and palliative nursing practice and standards
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-directed, motivated, and strong time management skills; flexibility to adapt to a changing environment
  • E-learning experience
  • Experience with appropriate application software
  • Bachelor’s degree with current license to practice as a registered nurse required, Master’s with CHPN or ACHPN certification preferred
