The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.

The SCCA Advance Practice Provider (APP) is an advanced registered nurse practitioner or physician assistant who works in an interdisciplinary Team providing Screening, Surveillance, and Early Detection Plan (SSEDP) implementation to patients with hereditary cancer syndromes at the High-Risk Surveillance Clinic. They will organize screening and surveillance and arrange transfer of care to the disease specific oncology team when appropriate. The person in this position will also interpret significance & implications of SSEDP test results and provide counseling & support for this patient population. They work collaboratively with the treatment team to coordinate care of their patients. All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician.

• Collaborates and consults with multiple attending physicians & other disciplines/services to ensure safe, effective, and timely treatment as well as continuity of patient care.
• Performs complex and problem-focused H & P’s
• Participates in the conduct of cancer clinical research
• Provides patient, caregiver, and peer education
• Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary care teams
• Participates in patient rounds, conferences, committees, and program development
