 This is your opportunity to join HopeWest – a nationally renowned nonprofit hospice and palliative organization. Be a member of a team of eight Physicians and three Nurse Practitioners, and work closely with a full interdisciplinary team, including nurses, Chaplains, Social Workers, physical therapists, and volunteers, to provide excellent and compassionate care.

You will work as a Team Hospice Physician in the Grand Junction area, and have the opportunity to provide Palliative Medicine consultations and participate in HopeWest’s many innovative programs, including the Program for All-Inclusive Care of the Elderly (PACE) and Dual eligible Special Needs Program (D-SNP).

You are conscientious, curious and compassionate, and have exceptional communication skills. You enjoy being part of team that works to “enable every family in our communities facing the issues of aging, illness and grief to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.” You are flexible and work to overcome barriers to provide the very best of care.

 HopeWest was founded 27 years ago through a community-wide vision and serves over 2,500 patients each year. It has a dedicated staff of 375 people and more than 1,300 volunteers. HopeWest is proud to be able to provide inpatient hospice care in its beautiful 13-bed unit in Grand Junction. The Center for Hope and Healing provides bereavement and counseling support to adults, and grief support to children and teens through HopeWest Kids.

HopeWest consistently provides a higher standard of care per the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Hospice Survey than the majority of hospices in the United States. It is an award-winning organization. HopeWest was a HEALTHCAREfirst Hospice Honors Recipient in 2020 for providing the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view. HopeWest has been recognized multiple times by Modern Healthcare as one of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • $88.00 - $100.00/Hour, plus any extra shift, on-call or call back shift pay that may apply.
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, LTD, AFLAC, 403(b) retirement, paid time off, education assistance, employee assistance program.  May be eligible to participate in vehicle fleet program.   

Qualifications

Board Certified/Eligible in Family Practice or Internal Medicine

Board Certified/Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine OR Hospice Medical Director Certified/Eligible

Colorado Medical License

Unrestricted DEA license
