Join a well-established and growing Hospice and Palliative program! Transitions LifeCare is seeking an enthusiastic Inpatient Palliative Medicine Physician who is eager to practice comprehensive Inpatient Palliative Medicine services at a large medical hospital, in a high quality and professional environment. Successful candidates will embrace a collaborative interdisciplinary team approach in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Transitions LifeCare is the leading provider of hospice and palliative care in the research triangle and provides the full continuum of care from inpatient palliative consultations, to community based palliative care, home health, and hospice, including a 30 bed inpatient hospice unit.
 
We are currently providing inpatient palliative care at two hospitals, educating palliative care fellows in partnership with University of North Carolina, and expanding to include a pediatric program. Our integrated electronic clinical records system assures superior access to clinical information across the continuum of care for every patient. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm.
 
Job Responsibilities may include: direct patient care each day in the form of inpatient palliative care consults and community based palliative care; serve as team medical consultant on interdisciplinary team; conduct home visits; perform on-call duties as required; certify prognosis; serve as attending physician as required.
 
Qualifications:  Graduate of certified medical school with MD or DO degree, followed by residency training and Board certification in a specialty suited for hospice and palliative medicine; Licensure in North Carolina; Current narcotic license; Current CPR certification; Maintain CME requirements for hospital staff and NC Medical Board; Board certification or Board eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine is required, fellowship training preferred.
