Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay) The Geriatrics/Extended Care Department of Edward Hines Jr., VA Hospital is seeking a full-time Geriatrician to be part of a sixteen physician and nine nurse practitioner team. Hines VA hospital is a tertiary hospital affiliated and adjacent to Loyola University Medical Center, Maywood Illinois located ten miles west of downtown Chicago. This Attending physician is for our Home Based Primary Care program. The physician will make home visits as part of an inter-disciplinary team. Patients may be part of those in the Hines catchment area as well as those near to one of our six CBOCs (Community Based Out-Patient Clinics). The successful candidate may be required to travel to the CBOC's for HBPC patient visits and interdisciplinary team meetings. This position will also ascertain duties in other Hines VA based programs including, direct patient care in the Community Living Center, outpatient Geriatrics clinic, Geriatric Consultation Services, Hospice and Palliative Care, as well as teaching Fellows, medical and family practice residents, PA students and other trainees. This position encompasses the duties of clinical, administrative, teaching, research, and other duties as assigned. Work Schedule: M-F 8:30am-5:00pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
