Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Full-Time Position with RWJBarnabas Health in Northern, NJ

RWJBarnabas Health and The Department of Pediatrics at Saint Barnabas Medical Center and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center are seeking a board-certified Pediatric Infectious Diseases Specialist to join our teams in Livingston and Newark, NJ, for a 100% Pediatric Infectious Diseases role (no general pediatrics work). This full-time position will focus on cultivating the continued development of our Pediatric Infectious Diseases team and will provide mentorship opportunities in addition to personal career growth. 

As two of our teaching hospitals, Saint Barnabas Medical Center (597 bed facility), and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (665 bed facility) provide opportunity for strong clinical collaboration as well as opportunities to mentor residents and medical students. In addition to educational opportunities, this role will include clinical time in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, with most outpatient time dedicated to hospital follow-up visits.

Located in Northern NJ, part of Essex County, this is an ideal location to reside with easy access to NYC, beautiful suburban neighborhoods, diverse communities, and top-notch school districts -- plus access to museums, fine dining and great shopping!

More about this position:

  • Patient population includes cases of botulism, anti-vaxxer, TB, CF sickle cell, and some neurosurgical infections
  • Large rheumatology patient population with supportive SBMC Rheumatology department
  • Robust referral system and support staff

 

Candidate requirements:

  • D./D.O. degree
  • Must be BC/BE in pediatric infectious diseases with sufficient fellowship training
  • Additional training and BC in allergy and immunology is ideal, but not required
  • NJ licensed or eligibility for NJ licensure is preferred

Our new state-of-the-art $8 million McMullen Children’s Center at Saint Barnabas Medical Center is a “hospital within a hospital” designed to meet the medical and emotional needs of young patients. Pediatric inpatient services, including a 10-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, are centralized within one area of the Medical Center. The Children’s Center offers the latest technologies, child-friendly patient rooms and a cheerfully-decorated playroom, family friendly lounges and lobbies, a parent overnight room, sibling play areas and access to the finest pediatric care available.
