Assistant Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment

The Department of Pediatrics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston is recruiting an Assistant Professor, CFA appointment.

This clinical faculty position in the division of Pediatrics, Pediatric Palliative and Supportive Care will: Establish and maintain a successful and robust academic practice, clinical trials portfolio, and educational program in Pediatrics. Maintain a supportive research, teaching, and clinical practice environment for trainees and clinical team members. Provide clinical expertise in patient care management and an appropriate research and teaching environment for fellows, residents, and students in the specialties of pediatric palliative care, and in research areas appropriate to the faculty member's training. Participate in developing a world?class operation that cares for patients with cancer, leading multiple innovative quality improvement projects and research studies, writing high?impact papers, obtaining peer?reviewed and other funding, and developing educational programs for residents, fellows and visiting physicians.

Medical degree and residency requirement as defined by the Texas Medical Board. Completed residency training in Pediatrics in an approved American Residency Program or equivalent. Must be board certified or board eligible in American Board of Pediatrics.

Must be board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Applicant with board eligibility/board certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology or foreign equivalent will be highly competitive.  Board certification must be obtained for Pediatric HPM within four years of employment.
