Dear Colleagues,

The Pediatric Cardiology Team at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford University is recruiting for Pediatric Hospitalist positions on our swing/nocturnist team in the cardiac step-down unit.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an outstanding group of experienced physicians and APPs providing excellent clinical care to children and adolescents hospitalized with cardiac issues, including heart transplants, patients with heart failure, surgical patients, patients with ventricular assist devices, patients with rhythm issues, and patients with genetic syndromes and associated cardiac defects.

Pediatric Hospitalists on our swing/nocturnist team operate independently on the swing and night shifts with clinical teaching and additional support from the cardiology fellow and attending. Night shifts enable autonomy and continuity, while swing shifts promote rich learning from faculty members and close teamwork with our daytime providers. In addition to these clinical opportunities, members of our team have abundant opportunities to participate in resident teaching, quality improvement work, and other long-term projects.

Pediatric Hospitalists are Stanford School of Medicine faculty in the clinician educator line and embrace their role as leaders in medical education and quality improvement. Ideal candidates should be team-oriented and self-motivated to further their faculty development in the areas of quality improvement, value-based care, medical education, and research through institutional, regional, and national opportunities.

Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital is a quaternary referral center and is well-resourced with 24 -7 vascular access teams, child life, OT/PT, all pediatric subspecialists, and a fully staffed cardiac intensive care unit with in-house attending. Our hospital is a leading pediatric heart transplant center, a leading center for ventricular assist devices, and a member of the PAC3 and PC4 collaboratives. Adjacent to Stanford University’s stunning campus, Palo Alto and its surrounding communities provide ample opportunity to enjoy California’s amazing weather, including year-round opportunities to walk, hike, ski, swim, bike, surf, and enjoy cuisine from every corner of the globe.

We are committed to cultivating and preserving a culture of inclusion, equity, and diversity. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, sex, color, religion, culture, beliefs, sexual orientation, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status. Successful candidate qualifications include: MD or DO, Board Eligible/Certified in Pediatrics, eligible to receive a medical license in the state of California, and demonstrated experience in pediatric hospital medicine and academics.

We encourage graduating residents, current hospitalists, and graduating fellows to apply. To submit your application, please send your cover letter and CV to Dr. Jones at jdjones@stanford.edu .

Please feel free to reach out to me directly for additional information.

Jessica Jones, MD, FAAP
