Position Summary:
The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for the supervision and coordination of the activities of patient care personnel within an assigned clinical area or facility to assist in meeting patient care requirements in accordance with physician instructions, MHS policies, and approved patient care standards. This position is responsible for both administrative and direct patient care services. Specific tasks and qualifications vary according to the clinical areas assigned. Position is expected to make independent clinical decisions within a framework of established clinical procedures and standards of practices. Administrative and staffing decisions are made within established MHS policies and procedures. Positions are accountable for recommending new/revised unit methods and for defining unit quality management goals.

Minimum Requirements:
2 years of clinical experience in professional or technical role/function
Previous experience and demonstrated skills in a supervisory or lead capacity
Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtained within three years from the initial date of hire
Advanced Degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred
Current Washington State RN license required.
Certification in clinical specialty desirable.
