Division Director Pulmonary Biology Faculty Opportunity at Cincinnati Childrens

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and Research Foundation invites applicants for the position of Director of the Division of Pulmonary Biology within the Perinatal Institute.

Pulmonary Biology & the Perinatal Institute are nationally/internationally recognized for research & clinical excellence advancing newborn health. The Perinatal Institute, comprising the Divisions of Pulmonary Biology and Neonatology, is a highly collaborative research and clinical network linking the research, clinical and education activities in Pulmonary Biology, Neonatology and the Fetal Care Center, to accelerate transformative discoveries and improvements to newborn health. The Division of Pulmonary Biology is one of the largest lung research centers in the world comprised of 21 primary faculty at the forefront of basic and translational pulmonary science that is transforming our understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of lung development, homeostasis, disease, and repair, with the goal of enabling new therapeutic approaches to improve pulmonary health. The faculty have strengths in Immunology, cell and developmental biology, single cell genomics, bioinformatics and stem cell research, and are active participants in graduate & post graduate education & in multiple collaborative research programs and consortia including T32, P01, U01, P30, R01 and Cystic Fibrosis Foundation awards.

The Director will provide strategic vision and leadership for the Division of Pulmonary Biology and in partnership with other co-leaders of the Perinatal Institute help manage, grow and execute the clinical, research and education missions. Career advancement opportunities include additional Leadership roles within the Perinatal Institute and larger Cincinnati Children's Research Foundation.

The successful candidate should be internationally recognized leader in pulmonary research, with a commitment to accelerating the translation of pulmonary and perinatal science to improve pediatric health. They should have experience building innovative research programs, recruiting, retaining, and mentoring a diverse group of top faculty and trainees. They need to have a proven ability to establish and foster collaborative interactions between diverse scientists, clinicians, educators and administrators to building & managing research programs, research infrastructure and academic training programs in partnership with other Divisions, Centers and Institutes within Cincinnati Children's.

Qualifications

Required:

PhD, MD or MD/PhD at the Full or Associate Professor Level

If applicable the candidate must have a current acitve unrestriced medical license
