RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Director of Palliative Care in Central NJ!

RWJBarnabas Health, the largest integrated healthcare system in New Jersey, has an exciting new opportunity for a full-time Medical Director to support and expand the Palliative and Supportive Care Services program at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. As the palliative care expert, you will have the opportunity to provide leadership, clinical oversight, and strategic direction for advancing palliative and supportive care at our institution.

Initially based in the inpatient setting, this position encompasses administrative, clinical, and teaching responsibilities. Experience in the development of a Palliative/Supportive Care Services Program is also desirable. Ideal candidates will be excited to take ownership of this division and chart a strong direction for the Inpatient and Outpatient programs.

Successful candidates must be:

• Board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
• Licensed in NJ or eligible for NJ licensure
• Fellowship trained in palliative care is highly desirable
• Team oriented and have strong interpersonal skills
• Team oriented and excited about the prospect of building and guiding a new Palliative Care Program
• Preferred candidates will have previous leadership experience.

More About the Position:

• Currently inpatient based with plans to expand to outpatient.
• Opportunities to develop a customized support team
• Ability to impact patients with a multitude of different needs including but not limited to patients goals of care, end of life decisions, advanced neurological disorders, cardiac disease, geriatric patients, oncological disease etc.

Located in Long Branch, NJ, this position is close in proximity to the famous Jersey Shore.
