On behalf of the Cook Children's Health Care System located in Ft. Worth, Texas, CareerPhysician, the national leader in child health executive search is pleased to inform you of the inception of a national search for Pediatric Palliative Care physicians to join their well-resourced and rapidly growing program.

Cook Children’s Health Care System is a not-for-profit, nationally recognized pediatric health care organization comprised of a Medical Center, Physician Network, Home Health company, Pediatric Surgery Center, Urgent Care Centers, Health Plan and Health Foundation.  Cook Children’s Medical Center is a freestanding 477-bed quaternary care pediatric hospital that is consistently ranked by US News and World Report.  The integrated system has more than 60 primary and specialty care offices throughout North and West Texas, serving a 23-county referral network. The Cook Children's Physician Network is the largest pediatric multi-specialty physician group in its service area with over 600 employed subspecialty and primary care providers.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Joining a well-established consult service-based Palliative Care program which includes an interdisciplinary team of pediatricians, PNPs, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Social Worker, Clinical Therapists, an administrative secretary, and Program Administrator with the goal of growing to 3 physician’s and 5 PNPs by the end of 2023.
  • Qualified candidates may participate in the fellow’s retention program that will provide a monthly stipend of $2,500 from employment through the start of practice with Cook Children’s.
  • The team sees patients of all ages and all stages of disease with a diverse variety of medical conditions. Many patients are receiving concurrent care - integrating Palliative Care with curative, disease modifying, and life prolonging treatments. Experience/interest in hematology-oncology will be a plus but not a requirement.
  • Candidates must be BE/BC in Pediatrics and BE/BC in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and eligible to secure an unrestricted Texas Medical License.
  • Opportunities available, but not required, to pursue clinical research with support including campus IRB, grant writing, research nurses, a dedicated PhD statistician.
  • Outstanding teaching opportunities with Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellows from 3 associated fellowship programs as well as medical students and residents from area medical schools.
  • Highly competitive compensation and benefits package, no state income tax, and a strong economy in one of the fastest growing areas of the United States.

For more details about this opportunity, or if you would like to recommend an individual(s) who exemplifies the qualities we are seeking in a candidate, please contact Karis Beasley at karis@careerphysician.com.  All interactions will remain confidential, and no inquiries will be made without the consent of the applicant.
