Neuroradiologist-Palo Alto Part time/ Fee Basis only

Pay Range: $2000-$2500 Per Day,

Hours: Mon-Fri 3 days a week, 8:00-4:30pm Flexible shifts

Stanford University and the VA Palo Alto Health Care System invites ABR-certified radiologists who have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in neuroradiology and who have or are eligible for a Certificate of Added Qualification in neuroradiology to join its fee basis faculty.  We will seek an appointment for the successful candidate at Stanford University School of Medicine as a Clinician Educator (Affiliated). Major criteria for academic appointment include excellence in clinical care and clinical teaching. Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

VA Palo Alto Healthcare System consists of three inpatient facilities located at Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and Livermore, in addition to seven community-based outpatient clinics around the Bay Area.  We are one of the premier Veterans Affairs sites in the country, operating over 800 beds including three nursing homes and a 100-bed homeless domiciliary. We directly serve over 67,000 enrolled Veterans, as well as many more Veterans who are referred to our site for higher-level care. Our health system provides a comprehensive range of patient care services using state-of-the-art technology. As part of our mission, we make substantial contributions to both education and research – and maintain one of the top three research programs in the national VA system.

The Radiology Department has recently opened a new facility that includes a GE Signa Premier MR (3T), GE PET-MR (3T), and two GE Revolution CT scanners. Other resources include Siemens Force CT and Skyra MR (3T) scanners. The new facility has recently commenced design of a space for two additional MR scanners.  Moreover, a newly renovated IR suite has a 640 detector Canon Aquilion CT scanner available for interventional and diagnostic use, a newly renovated bi-plane room, and a new Ultrasound procedure room.  VA Palo Alto is also home to one of the most advanced educational simulation centers in the VA network.

An affiliation with the world-renowned Stanford University School of Medicine provides a rich academic environment including medical training for physicians in virtually all specialties and subspecialties. The Radiology Service at VA Palo Alto is closely affiliated with the Stanford Radiology residency program, a fully-accredited program with a total of 52 residents. Many of the full-time faculty participate also in a 1-month medical student clerkship, as well.
