St. Joseph's Health has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a licensed and certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our Children's Outpatient team located in Syracuse, New York.

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides direct care functions including, but not limited to history and physical exams, daily rounds, or appointments, ordering medications and lab testing, discharge, or home care planning as appropriate, and education of the patient and family. The roles of expert practitioner change agent, consultant, educator/innovator, and liaison are fulfilled in these functions.

Requirements:

• Current New York State RN license: experience in pertinent areas of nursing practice, graduate of accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program.
• Master's degree in nursing preferred, clinical affiliate of medical staff, National certification as Nurse Practitioner or active pursuit within one year.
• Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
