He/she will serve as a member of the Medical Executive Committee, provide guidance on the overall medical policies of Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, and make specific recommendations and suggestions regarding the surgical department consistent with the philosophy and mission of Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital.

The incoming Chair will have multiple opportunities to make an impact, including growing clinical programs. The new Chair will be a strategic leader who will promote a strong culture safety and quality throughout Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. They will possess prior leadership and program development experience with demonstrated fiscal and administrative responsibility. The successful candidate will also have documented success in the clinical and education spheres and proven capabilities in strategic planning, recruitment and development, operations, resource allocation and related decision-making.

Application materials should be sent to Robert McMurtrie Jr DO, Chief Medical Officer at Robert.McMurtrieJr@mercyhealth.org to include the following: a current curriculum vitae and a comprehensive letter of interest summarizing all relevant experience, leadership accomplishments, and philosophy, clinical, and educational interests.
