Hospice of Spokane is a leading hospice care provider in our community and is northeast Washington’s long-standing nonprofit hospice serving Spokane, Ferry, Stevens and Pend Oreille counties. We are seeking a CEO to inspire and lead our organization and a committed team of 130 employees and 175 volunteers.
The CEO is responsible for the leadership, vision, strategic planning and operational management of Hospice of Spokane. The CEO establishes and implements goals that align with our mission, vision and core values. Additional responsibilities include the oversight of the quality, safety and delivery of end-of-life care to patients and their families, as well as, management of staffing and finances. This includes budgeting, reporting and compliance. The CEO reports to the Hospice of Spokane Board of Directors.
Our ideal candidate will have a combination of the following experience, knowledge and education:
• Master’s degree or post-graduate degree in nursing, medicine, healthcare administration, business administration or a related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree required. • Minimum of 2-5 years of senior leadership experience in a hospice setting required with demonstrated knowledge of hospice practices and regulations. • Experience in healthcare administration, nursing education or as a Clinician preferred. • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans and goals. • Ability to establish a positive work environment that fosters excellence, engagement, creativity and staff retention. • Highly effective communicator with demonstrated ability to collaborate with community partners and interface with donors. • Experience developing and implementing budgets and the ability to optimize financial and operational performance.
Hospice of Spokane is northeast Washington’s long-standing nonprofit hospice, serving Spokane, Ferry, Stevens and Pend Oreille counties. Using a holistic approach to end-of-life care, hospice addresses the medical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs of patients with terminal illness, along with support to their families.
Hospice of Spokane cares for anyone of any age in whatever setting they call home. This may be a private residence, assisted-living or skilled-nursing home, adult family home, hospital, or in either of our two hospice houses. Our team of physicians, nurses, nurse aides, social workers, chaplains, volunteers and other professionals focus on putting the patient’s needs first, while ensuring patient comfort and supporting quality of life. From delivering specialized care day or night, to around-the-clock phone support and grief counseling for family members, we are here for our patients, their families and our community.
