The Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program at The University of Texas - Tyler is looking for a fellow! We are an ACGME accredited program focused on training physicians interested in specializing in the care of patients with incurable conditions. Our Palliative Care team is committed to improving quality of life and minimizing suffering for the patient and families of East Texas.
The fellowship started in June of 2023 but comes with the foundation of an established Palliative Medicine Team, practicing locally for over 17 years and associated with a large non-profit hospice who has been serving East Texas for over 40 years. The primary sites of palliative care and hospice training are UT Health - Tyler Medical Center and The Hospice of East Texas. Fellows will train in a busy inpatient palliative care consult service and a full-time outpatient palliative care clinic. Hospice experience occurs in the home setting, covering 23 counties in East Texas, and includes managing a 28-bed in-patient hospice care facility.

Applicants should have completed training in ACGME accredited residency program in Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, Radiation Oncology, or Surgery and be board certified or board eligible by the start date of July 1, 2026.
